Privacy policy
BiodataSetu (https://www.biodatasetu.app) is run by Ashish Sharma. This policy explains what personal data we handle, why, and your rights under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What stays on your phone
When you make a free biodata or a BiodataSetu Biodata purchase, the details you type (names, dates, family details, contact numbers) and the photos you add are processed in your browser on your own device. We do not upload or store them on our servers. They are saved in your browser so you can edit later, and you can delete them by clearing the biodata or your browser data.
What we collect
- Payments. Payments are processed by Razorpay. We receive the order and payment IDs, the amount, the status, and a one-way coded version of the mobile number used to pay, so you can restore your purchase on another phone. We never see or store card, UPI or bank details.
- Usage counts. Simple events such as opening the form, previewing a design, paying or downloading, together with a broad source category (ads, QR, search or direct). If you arrive from a Google ad, we also store its click ID (gclid) with the event. We do not send names, biodata details, full referrer URLs or a browser ID with these events. A first-source category and click ID may be kept in this browser's local storage so later actions retain the original source.
- Private photo profile. If you buy it, the details and JPEG photos you choose to publish are stored on servers in India (Mumbai) for up to 12 months. The page is unlisted and can be protected with a PIN. Turning it off stops public access. Removing it deletes the photos and profile details. Content reported for misuse may be retained for up to 180 days for safety and abuse handling. We count profile views, but do not collect the viewer's name or contact details.
- Messages to us. If you email or call us, we keep what you send so we can help you.
Why we use it
To deliver what you bought, restore purchases, prevent misuse, answer your questions, meet legal and tax requirements, and improve the site. We do not sell or rent personal data, and we do not share biodata details with matrimony sites or anyone else.
Consent for other people's details
A biodata describes a person and their family. Please make one only with the agreement of the person it describes. Biodatas are only for adults of legal marriage age in India.
How long we keep data
- Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Usage counts: up to 13 months.
- Private photo profile content: until it expires after 12 months or you remove it.
- Removed or reported profile records: up to 180 days for safety and abuse handling.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or erase the personal data we hold about you, withdraw consent, or raise a grievance. Write to biodatasetu.support@gmail.com. We reply within 30 days.
