Marriage biodata format
A marriage biodata is a one-page introduction that families share before a match: who the person is, their education and work, family and horoscope details, and how to get in touch. Here is what a good format includes, with samples, and a free way to make your own in a few minutes.
Sample biodata formats
Each sample uses made-up details. Your own biodata can be made in any of these designs, in English, Hindi or Marathi.
What to include

Name and photo
Full name at the top, with one recent, clear photo. A plain background and daylight work best.

Personal details
Date, time and place of birth, height, religion and caste if you want to mention them, diet, languages and hobbies.

Horoscope details
Gotra, rashi, nakshatra, gan, nadi and manglik status. Many families add these; leave them out if yours does not use them.

Education and work
Highest degree, occupation, where you work, and annual income if you are comfortable sharing it.

Family details
Father's and mother's names and work, brothers and sisters, and your native place.

About you and expectations
Two or three honest lines about yourself, and what you hope for in a partner.

Contact
A contact person (often a parent), a mobile number, and a city or area. You do not need to share your full home address.
Tips for a good biodata
- Keep it to one page. Families read many biodatas, and a short, clear one stands out.
- Use a recent photo that looks like you today.
- Write dates in full, such as 14 March 1998, so nobody misreads them.
- Be honest about education, work and income. Trust matters more than a big number.
- Share it as a PDF for printing and as an image for WhatsApp.
