What to include in a boy's biodata
Photo
One recent, well-lit photo in formal or traditional clothes. Avoid group photos, sunglasses and heavy filters.
Personal details
Full name, date, time and place of birth, height, religion and community if you want to mention them, diet, and languages.
Education and career
Highest qualification, current job and company or business, work location, and annual income if the family is comfortable sharing it.
Family details
Parents' names and work, brothers and sisters with their marital status, and the native place.
Horoscope (optional)
Rashi, nakshatra, gotra and manglik status, if the families will match horoscopes.
Expectations and contact
A short, respectful line about the partner you hope for, and a parent's mobile number.
Tips
- Mention the income honestly, or leave it out. A vague or inflated figure causes trouble later.
- If you work in another city or abroad, say so clearly; it is one of the first things families ask.
- Keep hobbies and About me short and specific.
- Ask a parent or sibling to read it once before you share it.
