Brahmin marriage biodata format
Brahmin families usually look closely at gotra and horoscope details, so a Brahmin biodata gives these clearly, along with the usual personal, education and family details.

Vandan design, in Hindi. Sample details are made up.
What a Brahmin biodata usually includes
Gotra
Almost every Brahmin biodata gives the gotra, since marriage within the same gotra is traditionally avoided. Some families also add the pravara.
Veda and shakha
Some families mention their Veda, such as Rigveda or Yajurveda, and the shakha. Add these as fields of your own.
Horoscope
Rashi, nakshatra, gan, nadi and manglik status, with the exact time and place of birth for kundli matching.
Sub-community
Many families name the sub-community, such as Deshastha, Saraswat, Saryuparin or Iyer, under sub-caste.
Customs differ between families and regions. Include what your family uses, and leave out the rest.
Tips
- Write the gotra the way your family spells it, and check it with an elder.
- Use Add your own field for the Veda, shakha or pravara.
