Hindu marriage biodata format
Most Hindu biodatas open with a blessing: Lord Ganesha with ॥ श्री गणेशाय नमः ॥, or Om, or the family deity's name. Then come the personal and family details, and often the horoscope details used for matching.

What a Hindu biodata usually includes
A blessing at the top
Ganesha with ॥ श्री गणेशाय नमः ॥ is the most common. Others use Om, ॥ श्री ॥, or a line for the family deity, such as ॥ श्री खंडोबा प्रसन्न ॥.
Horoscope details
Rashi, nakshatra, gotra, gan, nadi and manglik status, with the exact time and place of birth that astrologers need for kundli matching.
Family deity
Many families mention their kuldevta or kuldevi, especially in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan.
Family, education and work
Parents, brothers and sisters, native place, education and work, as in any biodata.
Customs differ between families and regions. Include what your family uses, and leave out the rest.
Tips
- Check the time of birth with your parents; a wrong time changes the horoscope match.
- If your family does not match horoscopes, leave that section out entirely.
- Some families prefer not to print god images on paper that may be thrown away. A text blessing or Om works well instead.
Making it on BiodataSetu
Choose Ganesha, Om or no symbol at the top, then the shloka, ॥ श्री ॥ or your family deity's line. Fill in the family deity field and its line appears, ready to pick.
