Maratha marriage biodata format
Maratha biodatas are usually written in Marathi and open with Ganesha or the family deity, such as ॥ श्री खंडोबा प्रसन्न ॥ or ॥ श्री तुळजाभवानी प्रसन्न ॥. Families look for the kuldevat (कुलदैवत) and devak (देवक), and for gan and nadi when they match horoscopes.

What a Maratha biodata usually includes
Kuldevat (कुलदैवत)
The family deity, such as Khandoba, Tuljabhavani or Jotiba. It often appears as the line at the top as well.
Devak (देवक)
The clan emblem. Many families avoid marriage within the same devak, so they compare it early. Add it as a field of your own.
Gan, nadi and ras
Gan (देव, मनुष्य, राक्षस), nadi (आद्य, मध्य, अंत्य) and ras, with the time and place of birth.
Family and native village
Parents, brothers and sisters, the mama (maternal uncle), and the native village (मूळ गाव).
Customs differ between families and regions. Include what your family uses, and leave out the rest.
Tips
- Write the biodata in Marathi if both families read Marathi; it feels more personal.
- Mention the mama's name and village. Many families ask about the maternal side.
Making it on BiodataSetu
Choose Marathi as the biodata language and fill in कुलदैवत; the line ॥ श्री … प्रसन्न ॥ is then ready to pick. The Paithani design is a favourite for Marathi biodatas.
