What to write in a marriage biodata
A useful marriage biodata gives another family a clear first introduction without sharing more than you are comfortable with. Use this checklist as a starting point, then leave out any details your family does not want to include.

Saral, a simple English format. Sample details are made up.

Vandan, in Hindi. Sample details are made up.

Paithani, in Marathi. Sample details are made up.
A practical checklist
Name and photo
Use the name the person wants to share and one recent, clear photo. A group photo or an old, heavily edited picture can confuse the first impression.
Personal details
Add date and place of birth, height, language and other details that matter to your family. Birth time and horoscope fields are optional.
Education and work
State the highest qualification, current work or studies, and city. Add income only if the person is comfortable sharing it.
Family
Briefly name parents and siblings, what they do if relevant, and the family's native place. Keep this section factual and short.
Partner preferences
Write a few respectful points about the values, location or lifestyle that matter to the person. Avoid a long list of demands.
Contact
Give a contact person and mobile number. A city or area is enough; a full home address is not needed on a biodata that may be forwarded.
Tips
- Keep the page readable and remove any field that makes it crowded.
- Check spellings, dates, phone digits and work details with the person before sharing.
- Do not include identity numbers, bank details or a full home address.
- Share the biodata only with people the family trusts; recipients can forward a file.
